Welcome!
Welcome!
A quick note to welcome you on behalf of York College Students’ Union. We hope that your first week went well and that you’re beginning to get to know the College a bit better.
Let me introduce the Students’ Union and a bit about what we do.
York College Students’ Union represents Students at York College, by being a member of the College, you are automatically a member of the Students’ Union.
The Executive Committee are an elected group of students who represent Students across the College. what we do is shaped by you, the students. You’ll no doubt see us across the College, we are usually wearing our Grey hoodies with the SU logo and our job titles on the back so if you see us around College come say Hi and ask us some questions.
As a Students’ Union:
We campaign on issues that matter to you whether it be things like the ‘Save EMA’ Campaign or for more seating areas in College.
We run Health and welfare campaigns to make you aware of what services the College offers and too make sure that you’re in the knowledge with issues relating to your health and welfare campaigns. Look out in the atrium for the next Health and welfare campaign.
We run entertainments events: such as a Leavers ball or Festive fling a bit of fun at Christmas time.
Run Charity events whether it be a RAG week or Children in Need.
Help you set up and run Clubs and Societes in College.
Come and get involved: We’re always looking for people to come and take part in what we do whether that is being a course rep and attending student council telling us what you want to see the exec committee doing or even stand for an executive committee post in October or April.
If you are at all interested in being involved.Feel free to come to have a chat to us on the Freshers stall (until 23rd September) or in the Students Union office just inside of Lounge on 1.
